3. Use this "Magic" Ingredient
There's one ingredient that Dermatologists swear by. Can you guess what it is?
I'll give you a hint: Carrots.
Well, no. It's not actually carrots. It's an ingredient derived from carrots called Retinol.
Maybe you've even heard of Retinol.
It's in several different beauty creams. Retinol works at a much more deep level. It enhances collagen production, smooths the skin tone, and evens pigmentation. Not bad for a single ingredient.
But it's not just magic. Dermatologists swear by retinol, counting it as a must-have for just about everyone (second only to SPF), even those with sensitive skin.
“I don’t know a single dermatologist who doesn’t use a retinol product on their skin,” says Heather Rogers, MD, a Seattle-based dermatologist and clinical assistant dermatology professor at the University of Washington.
Beware! Not all Retinols are created equal. That's why it's important to select a gentle and natural retinol.
4. Say NO to Fragrances!
Fragrances make your cream, serums, and face wash smell beautiful! But this comes with a cost.
Fragrances are often used to cover up the other chemical smells. So the result is just another chemical (fragrance) on top of all the other chemicals. To make matters worse, some added fragrances use toxic chemicals that can be dangerous to the person wearing it.
Beware: If your product label says the word "Fragrance" ... say NO!
5. Go Natural!
Most of us think that "natural" is code for better. Unfortunately, just as there bad chemicals, there are bad natural ones.
It's very difficult to know which companies sell fake natural products. You may see advertising that says "contains natural ingredients" ... that is most likely bogus. It could be 99% chemicals and 1% natural.
Beware! Look for honest natural companies. They use organic ingredients, don't test on animals, and give back to the community.
