Aging is inevitable, and at Earth’s Cure we believe there is nothing wrong with aging gracefully.
The lines on our face are simply the story of our lives.
However, most of us like to look and feel as fresh as we can as we age, and while you can't "turn back the clock"... there is good news.
You can reverse some of the aging process by taking good care of your skin.
Read on to find out the skincare ingredients you should actively seeking out if you are 40-65 years old. These ingredients will nourish and protect your skin in the most beautiful way. Best of all, the first ingredient is proven to take care of wrinkles!
1. Retinol
There are a ton of lotions and potions on the market that claim to rid the face of all its lines and wrinkles, products that promise they can “turn back the hands of time”. And while we hate to break it to you that this is completely impossible--if skincare could achieve such miracles, plastic surgeons would be out of a job!--retinoids do win the prize for being the most effective and potent anti-aging ingredients on the market.
One form of retinoid is retinol, an over-the-counter powerhouse of an ingredient that is actually a form of vitamin A.
Retinol was once used solely to get rid of acne, blackheads, and to get rid of buildup in pores, but it was quickly discovered that it also had some pretty amazing anti-aging properties.
After about 12 weeks of using retinol, you can expect to see a reduction in age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles, as well as a noticeable reduction in any sun damage.
On top of that, retinol increases cell turnover and unclogs pesky pores, leaving you with a youthful glow and radiance.
One word of warning: be sure to ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN when you use retinol; while it is a wonder ingredient, retinol is potent and does leave your skin more vulnerable to sun damage.
2. Collagen
Collagen is the bees knees as far as we’re concerned. But what exactly is it, we hear you ask? Well, collagen is something our bodies naturally produce when we’re young. It’s the stuff that gives us a glow from the gods and and the reason why everything is nice and taut in our early 20s.
After about the age of about 25, our collagen production dwindles, which means fine lines, wrinkles, and a loss of elasticity that causes the skin to sag.
Using collagen in your skincare regimen will improve elasticity and give you some of the plumped-up prettiness of your youth.
3. Hyaluronic acid
First, don’t let the name scare you; hyaluronic acid is an entirely natural substance that occurs naturally in the body, and it’s perfectly safe on the skin.
In fact, this super ingredient works in a completely different way to other acids. While most acids exfoliate the skin, hyaluronic acid adds something to the skin, something entirely crucial that makes it all lovely and juicy and blurs the look of fine lines and wrinkles: water.
